Rodkey recognized as Logansport Citizen of the Week

A Boy Scout leader for many years in Logansport has been cited as the recipient of a city honor.

Harry Rodkey, for years known as a downtown presence at the former printing company, is recognized this week for his work with young people.

“As meticulous as Harry was in producing quality graphic products, he was as dedicated to the Boy Scout movement and projects,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said. “Logansport has had a long tradition as a very active scouting community, including the late Al Drompp and Dr. Leo Cahalan. Harry has continued that legacy for our community and served as a role model for other scout leaders.”

Rodkey is one of many examples of local youth leaders who continue on in youth organizations for years, and in many cases, long after their own children have completed their time in organizations such as 4-H clubs or youth baseball.

The Citizen of the Week recognizes Logansport natives or residents who contribute to the community or are recognized for their achievements. Recipients received a certificate of appreciation from the city and a $20 gift certificate.
