Local attorney collecting donations for Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico

A local attorney is collecting donations for those affected by Hurricane Maria.

“I am not one to ask for help lightly, but as some of you may know my dear homeland Puerto Rico was affected by Hurricane Maria a week ago,” says Yamir Gonzalez-Velez, who is the attorney for the City of Logansport. “People need help, and there is a limited way of helping. A contact in Lawrence, IN has secured a military transport to take donations to the island. They will be collecting donations this Saturday, September 30.”

Gonzalez-Velez says she will be collecting donations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 and Friday, Sept. 29 at the Robert Justice Law office located at 405 7th Street in Logansport and will take them to Lawrence on Saturday.

Below is a list of the things that the victims need:
Diapers of all size, for children and adults / Formula / Wipes / Bottles / Kiddie Cups all sizes / Feminine Products (tampons, sanitary napkins) /Deodorant (men and woman) /Soap /Bottled Water/ First Aid Kits / Aspirin/ Ibuprofen/ Powdered Milk/ Similar items
