Local leaders joined Miller’s Merry Manor for a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday afternoon at their Logansport facility.
Administrator Jake Morris announced a 7,500 square foot addition that will include a Rehab Center and Living Well Fitness Center, with a community room that will be used for wellness educational seminar and will be open to civic groups for meetings. The approximately $2 million expansion will include a therapy pool and a new gym/equipment center, and will also include renovation of the building’s first floor.
Bill Cuppy with the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce and Cass-Logansport Economic Development Organization (CLEDO) says the community has seen several major economic development announcements in the last year.
“We have a lot of positive things going on,” Cuppy said. We started off with Tyson’s announcement earlier this year for a $15 million expansion for a cold storage unit. Then the hospital came in with their $7.5 million expansion announcement. Of course this great thing at Miller’s Merry Manor, which extends their occupational therapy and physical fitness area. We had the announcement of Cal-Comp with a $50 million investment in our community, with personal property, equipment, things like that. They’re adding 70 jobs. Last week we had the market rate apartments approved at Logan Square, which will bring 40 new apartments to downtown Logansport and increase office space.”
Miller’s Merry Manor is located at 200 26th Street in Logansport. The project is expected to begin soon and be completed by Spring 2018.
