Indianapolis, IN –  Indiana Auditor of State, Tera Klutz, brought her Campaign Kickoff Tour to Indianapolis where she was joined by Governor Eric Holcomb along with a large group of supporters. Klutz is the first CPA to serve as Indiana’s Chief Financial Officer in Indiana’s 200-year history.

In kicking off her campaign for a full term, Klutz referenced many of her accomplishments during her nine months in office, “I am proud to have increased the transparency of Indiana’s finances as well as created an Internal Control Department which will work to improve the processes within the Auditor’s office.”

“It is fiscally responsible to be transparent when spending taxpayer’s money. But equally important, being transparent encourages fiscal responsibility,” Klutz said.

Governor Eric Holcomb, who appointed Klutz to fill the office vacancy created when then- State Auditor Suzanne Crouch became Lt. Governor said, “Tera Klutz’s experience as a Certified Public Accountant, as Allen County’s elected Auditor and for the last eight months as our Auditor of State, have only reassured me that she was, and continues to be, the best choice to serve as Indiana’s Chief Financial Officer.  I fully support her campaign, from convention to General Election, and look forward to continuing to work with her for years to come.”

Indiana Senate President Pro Tem, David Long, a longtime friend of Klutz said, “Tera Klutz is a proven leader dedicated to fiscal transparency and good government. I have known Tera for many years through her previous role as Allen County’s Auditor. As she kicks off her campaign and travels around the state getting to know Hoosiers, I know they will be as impressed with her as I have been.  I look forward to supporting her during her election next year.”

Klutz was elected Allen County Auditor in 2010 and again in 2014. She served as Chair of the Association of Indiana Counties’ Legislative Committee from 2013-2016 and was the recipient of the 2016 County Auditor of the Year Award by the Indiana Auditors’ Association. Klutz holds a BA in Accounting from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Klutz is married to her husband, Zach, and has 2 daughters, Alyx and Julian.
