Lola Hollis Snavely

Lola Hollis Snavely, 90, of Flora, passed away peacefully at 1:15 p.m, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her residence.

Born February 3, 1927 in Idaville, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Wilma (Biddle) Weaver. On April 21, 1949, she married John Elmer Hollis. He preceded in death on September 28, 1959. She later married Robert Snavely and he preceded her in 1995.

Lola was a lifelong homemaker who also taught weekday religion education classes in Cass County for many years. Lola was a Member and Elder at the Flora Presbyterian Church, she was a 50 year member of the Pythian Sisters, and a founding member and volunteer of the Emmaus Mission Center in Logansport. Lola was known for always taking care of others.

Survivors include her son, Gerry Hollis (Susan) of Flora, granddaughter, Erika Hollis of Lafayette, sisters, Ann Jeffers of Logansport, Marcia Funk (Richard) of Royal Center, Betty Smith of Monticello, and Margaret Van Meter (Max) of Monticello. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sister, Jean John and brothers, Wayne, Lyle, Larry and Kenneth Weaver.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Grace Hammer officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery.
