Veterans Day is Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018.
LMU and City of Logansport offices will be closed on Monday, November 12, 2018 in observance of Veteran’s Day
The Cass County Government Building will be closed Monday, Nov. 12. Property taxes will be due Tuesday, Nov. 13.
All BMV branches are closed Saturday, November 10 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Branches with a regular Monday schedule will be closed Monday, November 12 in observance of the holiday.All branches resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday, November 13.
Post Offices will be closed and there will be no mail delivery on Monday, Nov. 12.
Logansport trash pick-up will remain on schedule
Republic Services will be running regular Monday-Friday trash and recycling routes the week of Nov. 12.

VETERANS DAY PARADE: The Cass County Veterans Council will present the annual Veterans Day Parade Sunday morning in downtown Logansport. Parade lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. A ceremony on 4th Street, outside the Cass County Government Building, will begin at 10 a.m. The parade will move up Broadway to the Logansport City Building for another ceremony. This year’s grand marshal is WWII Navy Veteran Allen Dale Henry.
In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the armistice ending World War I and the 75th anniversary of Norman Rockwell’s “Four Freedoms” paintings, the City of Logansport will formally dedicate a display of the paintings Sunday.
The dedication will come at the 11 a.m. Veterans Day address by Mayor Dave Kitchell at the City Building near the Doughboy Monument honoring World War I veterans.
The exhibit has been permanently hung in the City Council chambers, which also will house the Cass County Historical Society’s World War I exhibit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Caston will present a Veteran’s Day Program Friday, November 9, from 10:45 – 11:45 a.m. in the HS Gymnasium. All parents, veterans, their families and community members are invited to attend. VETERANS DAY HONOR MEAL:
All veterans and active-duty military personnel, and everyone in their vehicle, will be admitted free to DNR state parks, reservoir properties, state forest recreation areas and state off-road vehicle riding areas on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Because Falls of the Ohio State Park is open only during the afternoon on Veterans Day, that park will offer free admission to its interpretive center for veterans and active-duty military on both Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12.
Veterans and military personnel should present ID or evidence of military service where entrance gates are in operation.
For proof of military status, gate attendants will accept:
—Discharge papers (veteran’s DD Form 214)
—Veteran license plates: Ex-POW, Purple Heart, Disabled Hoosier Veteran, Pearl Harbor Survivor. Veteran license plates also include:
—Air Force Veteran
—Coast Guard Veteran
—Marine Corps Veteran
—Merchant Marine Veteran
—U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Disability Award Letter
—Veterans hunting and fishing license
—Documents showing veteran benefits with veteran’s name on document
—Any other certificate or verification letter or form that establishes past or present military service
