Delores Irene “Dee” Cochran

Delores Irene “Dee” Cochran, 75, of Logansport passed away peacefully at 3:15 a.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after courageously battling breast cancer twice in four years.

Born on November 3, 1942 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lecta (Page) Piercy.

Dee was a 1960 Royal Center High School graduate.

On November 15, 1960 she married her sweetheart, Richard Dewain Cochran.

She retired in 2005 from her position as Bookstore/Treasurer at Pioneer High School. Dee also was formerly employed at Community State Bank in Royal Center. She was an active member of Center Road Church of Christ in Kokomo.

Her greatest joys were family, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren, being with her church family each week, preparing meals for others, reading and doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Dee was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed Pioneer High School football.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard D. Cochran of Logansport, children, Kim Berkshire (Gary) of Logansport, Cheryl Kistler (Mike) of Royal Center, and Jason Cochran (Rachel) of Noblesville, grandchildren, Amy Stiner (Kyle) of Lafayette, Nathan Kistler (Bailey) of Greenwood and Duke and Crew Cochran both of Noblesville, great grandchildren, Madeline and Olivia Stiner both of Lafayette and Blake and Wyatt Kistler both of Greenwood, sister, Diana Bauer (Paul) of Franklin, Tennessee and brother in law, Jerry Crist of Wabash. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews who thought of her as their second mom.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Janette Hettinger and Wilma Crist.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2017 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. Dee’s service will be officiated by her minister, Micah Powless and her son, Jason.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery.
