Alpha Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority has responded to the Cass County Community Foundation’s gift to fund the Carousel over Thanksgiving weekend with a gift of their own. The sorority has generously made a gift to pay the operating expenses of the Cass County Carousel for the Saturday before and the Tuesday after Christmas and will allow all rides to be free.

In announcing the gift, President Jean Boyd said, “Alpha Phi is one of several local chapters of Beta Sigma Phi, a social and cultural organization. The sisters in my chapter believe that this gift is a great way to give many families a fun activity during the Christmas holiday.”

The sorority annually makes and sells cheeseballs to fund various charitable organizations and community needs. Deanna Crispen, a member of the sorority shared, “Our cheeseball project has provided funds to support families in crisis, scholarships, food pantries, Relay for Life, Salvation Army, after proms the new Christmas in the Park, and LHS student trips to view the solar eclipse.”

The Carousel will be open both Saturday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 26 from 1-5 p.m. for free rides.
