One of the seven members elected to the Logansport City Council in 2015 will finally be able to be seated on the council after a two-year wait.

Democrat Scott Peattie was appointed today to fill out the remaining two years of the four-year term he won in the city election. Peattie decided to step aside from that office when it was determined state law did not allow him to serve while he was still employed with the Logansport Municipal Utilities. He is retiring from LMU this week.

In the interim, Joe Ness served as his replacement. Ness resigned earlier this month so Peattie could assume his seat.

He will be sworn in by Cass Circuit Judge Leo Burns and assigned to committees by the council next month.
