Betty was a 1942 graduate of Logansport High School and a lifelong member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. She was very proud of the fact she was the oldest and longest member of her church.

Betty was a homemaker for most of her life. She did work nearly 7 years in the Cass County Recorder’s office in the early 1960’s for George W. Cline.

She served as an assistant 4-H leader for many years, and was a former member of the Clay Township Home Ec Club. Over the years, she enjoyed wintering in Florida.

Betty was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Marsha K. Iles, two grandsons, John S. (Alicia) Iles and Brian D. (Ann) Iles; and three great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Chloe and Nathan Iles, all of Logansport. Also surviving are a niece, Suzy (John) Hatton, Logansport, and a nephew, Bill (Maddy) Cox, Logansport; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven C. Johnson, a son-in-law, David J. Iles; and her brother and sister-in-law, Rayburn and Betty Cox.

A funeral service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 11 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Theda McBryde officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Logansport.
