The Salvation Army in Logansport is reaching the end of its main fundraising season.  The Salvation Army was blessed this Christmas season to have dedicated volunteers, employees, and generous donors make a greater impact in Cass County.

“There were a total of 852 persons encouraged through our Angel Tree gifts for kids and our food baskets for families.” Said Lt. Liz DeLacy, one of the Corps Officers, “Through the generous donations of toys and gifts we were able to serve 512 children! 182 families received a food basket.”
The Salvation Army had 210 individuals go above and beyond to make sure these families had the best Christmas.  They gave a total of 1,727 hours of their time to make this a reality, some pulling 12 hour days!

Christmas at The Salvation Army Red Kettle was a blast in 2017!  There were people playing their instruments, some dressing up like Santa, others giving out candy, and giving warm greetings all the while helping us to get closer to reaching our fundraising goal. This year we had 142 groups and individuals participate in the ringing of bells at the Red Kettle, with a total of 1,395 hours manned at the various locations.

The Salvation Army set a Christmas Goal of $125,000 for the community. This campaign helps us reach out to those who are in crisis, to find healing for those who are needing a new normal.  This allows us to reach out to various age groups and individuals in Cass County and provide a place for them to seek God, find help, play, learn, find guidance and become whole.

Currently The Salvation Army of Cass County has raised $104,057.29. As of January 25, 2018 The Salvation Army has 17% left to raise. The Salvation Army Christmas Campaign which began November 1, will end January 31st.

“We are incredibly grateful to the faithful donors and volunteers who have made this Christmas Campaign about giving others hope to others” Said Lt. DeLacy. “If you would like to help us maximize our efforts, to help us do the most good, to the most people, in the most need, please continue to be generous. Please give in order that we together might make a greater impact on Cass County.”
