Luz “Lucy” Maria Tavarez, 44, of Walton passed away unexpectedly at 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017.
Born on May 22, 1973 in Salinas, California, she was the daughter of Victor E. Tavarez and Magdalena Macias Tavarez.
Lucy was a customer service representative at Osram Sylvania in Westfield. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Lucy enjoyed attending Zumba classes, watching the Oakland Raiders and most of all being with her family.
She is survived by her children, Andrea DeJesus of Logansport, Marissa DeJesus of Walton and Victor DeJesus of Walton, her parents, Victor and Magdelena Tavarez of Walton, her husband, Gilberto Murillo of Mexico, sisters Maria Lourdes Sanchez and Ana Olivia Gonzalez both of Walton and her maternal grandfather Jesus Macias.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Elisa Gutierrez and paternal grandparents, Ramon Tavarez and Luz Carrasco.
Mourning hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2 and Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Marocco Rans Funeral Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Gustavo Lopez officiating.
Burial will follow at Walton IOOF Cemetery.
