A senior member of the Logansport girls’ basketball team who is among the elite players ever to play locally was recognized today hours before she takes the floor in the Logansport Sectional.
Olivia Pearson, who recently became a member of the 1,000-point club at LHS, is this week’s Logansport Citizen of the Week.
“Olivia follows in the footsteps of some great Logansport girls basketball players from Amy Smith and Linda Clark to our all-stars and of course, Whitney Jennings, our Miss Basketball,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said. “She has had some big shoes to fill, but she has stepped up to be a leader and quietly become one of the outstanding scorers in school and North Central Conference history.”
The Citizen of the Week is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and recognizes Logansport natives or residents who contribute to the community or are recognized for their achievements. Recipients received a certificate of appreciation from the city and a $20 gift certificate.
