The LHS Speech Team won the Central Indiana Forensic League (CIFL) Conference title Saturday, February 3.
Emilie Edwards, Stefanie Diaz, Caleb Sholty, Clarissa Luna, Jon Raderstorf, and Josiah Richey were named Tournament champions in their individual events. Other top honors went to: Matt Calisto, 3rd; Nick Yax, 5th; Max Baker, 6th; and Ben Baker, 7th in Discussion. Jon Raderstorf, 1st; Emilie Edwards, 3rd; Matt Calisto, 4th; Courteney Biggs, 7th in Impromptu. Josiah Richey, 1st and Alex Starkey, 3rd in Humorous. Caleb Sholty 1st, and Stefanie Maxson, 2nd in Oratory. Stefanie Diaz, 1st in Original Performance. Emilie Edwards, 1st inPoetry. Stefanie Diaz, 4th and Clarissa Luna, 8th in Prose. Clarissa Luna, 1st in Programmed Oral Interp. Josiah Richey, 2nd; Parker Wilburn, 3rd; Claire Graham, 4th; and Jessica Gross, 7th in Radio.
The team competed in the prestigious Ball State University Red Carpet Affair Tournament on Saturday, January 20. Individual award placement went to: Josiah Richey, 7th in Radio and Humor; Braxton Howard, 10th in Radio; Jon Raderstorf, 3rd in Discussion; Alex Starkey, 11th in Humor; Emilie Edwards, 9th in Impromptu; Stefanie Maxson, 12th in Oratory; Caleb Sholty, 8th in Oratory; Clarissa Luna, 11th in Prose, and Stefanie Diaz, 9th in Original Performance.
The team will host more than 20 schools at their annual Speaking of Love tournament Saturday, February 10.
