Upon its completion and official opening for patients, Logansport Memorial Hospital (LMH) plans to host an Open House for the community on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1-3 pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend, and no registration for the event is required.

The Cancer Care Center at Logansport Memorial Hospital was one of the largest capital improvement projects in the hospital’s history, yielding a state-of-the-art facility where patients battling cancer can be treated locally and conveniently. The construction phase of the project was primarily completed in 2017, and new technology and equipment was installed in the early part of 2018 before its official opening for patients. As of February 6, the Cancer Care Center will be seeing patients in its brand new location.

The Cancer Care Center has combined two previous locations on the Logansport Memorial Hospital campus. Indianapolis-affiliated physicians have long held a partnership with LMH to see and treat patients locally, specializing in both hematology-oncology and radiation oncology. The hematology-oncology providers were previously located in Suite 380, on the top floor of Medical Office Building East, and radiation oncology and radiation therapy services were located at 1616 Smith Street. With the new Cancer Care Center, both types of cancer treatment will now be co-located with a new chemotherapy and infusion space in the Lower Level of Medical Office Building East, complete with an on-site Pharmacy, Laboratory, and valet parking for added convenience.

On Sunday, February 11, visitors may take self-guided tours of the new building. The friendly, local faces of our staff will be available to answer questions about our services and equipment. Light refreshments will be provided.

A ceremonial ribbon cutting is scheduled for 2 pm that afternoon, followed by short remarks from LMH President and CEO Perry Gay. Parking is available but will be limited in front of Medical Office Building East. Additional parking will be available in the parking garage that’s located in front of the main hospital lobby. Volunteers will be ready to assist you in finding your way to the Cancer Care Center if you choose to park in the parking garage.
