Five people were taken to hospitals following a serious two vehicle accident just before 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at the intersection of US 24 and Cass County Road 600 E.

Sheriff Randy Pryor says a 2015 Jeep driven by Justin M. Quaglio, 33, of Logansport, was northbound on CR 600E. According to Pryor, Quaglio had stopped in the middle of the intersection to look for traffic, then proceeded to cross the westbound lanes of US 24 and was struck by a west-bound 2011 Chevy Malibu driven by Leona Miller, 22, of Middlebury.

Miller and a passenger, Alex Creekmur, 21, of Middlebury and a passenger in the Jeep, Megan Quaglio, were flown by helicopter to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Justin Quaglio and a 12-year-old passenger in the Jeep, Kayden Denny, were taken by Prompt Ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Logansport Police Department, Walton Fire Department, New Waverly Fire Department, Cass County Fire District 1 and Prompt Ambulance.

Pryor encourages all drivers to take a second look at intersections and advises drivers on US 24 to slow down as they approach both 600 E and Logansport Road.
