Kindergarten registration dates set for Cass County schools
Caston Elementary will be hosting Kindergarten Roundup on Wednesday, April 4th, 2018. Two screening sessions will be held at the school. The first session will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. The second session will be from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. If your child will be attending Kindergarten at Caston Elementary for the 2018-2019 school year, you will need to call the school (574-857-3025 ext. 332) to schedule an appointment for one of the above sessions.
Parents will be attending an informative meeting while their child is being screened. Children must be five (5) years of age by August 1, 2018 to be eligible to attend Kindergarten. It is very important that a parent/guardian and the child attend this event.
Parents are asked to bring two (2) items to the screening: (1) the child’s Legal Birth Certificate and (2) the child’s Immunization Records. Immunization records will be reviewed by the school nurse, Mrs. Diana Smith. Mrs. Smith will advise parents of any shots that their child will need before entering Kindergarten in the fall.
The Lions Club will once again sponsor Operation Kidsight, a free vision screening for your child. Paperwork must be filled out prior to exam. (Parent/Guardian: when you call to set up appointment, please give your address to Mrs. Sutton and the paperwork will be mailed to you prior to Kindergarten Roundup date.)
Kindergarten Roundup is a day filled with fun for incoming 2018-2019 students. Activities planned include a school bus ride, crafts and cookies and milk.
Questions can be forwarded to Mrs. Elaine Sutton, Elementary Secretary
