A long-time resident of Logansport’s south side who has been part of a family business and a vital part of the community is recognized this week for her many contributions.

Cecilia Slusser of Slussers’ Green Thumb has been actively involved in the beautification of downtown Logansport. She also is an integral part of her family business operated with her husband, Tom.

“Cecilia and her family have contributed personally and professionally in countless ways that are appreciated by their friends, neighbors and fellow Logansport residents,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said today. “Many of their efforts go unrecognized because they don’t do things for the recognition. They do things to better the community because that need to be done and they’re able to do them.”

The Slussers have been donors to Butler University. Art is Cecilia’s hobby.

The Citizen of the Week is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and recognizes Logansport natives or residents who contribute to the community or are recognized for their achievements. Recipients received a certificate of appreciation from the city and a $20 gift certificate.
