Donald Eugene Shaver

Donald Eugene Shaver, 87 of Logansport, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Golden Senior Living Center in Kokomo.

Born on June 12, 1930 in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son to the late Carl and Dorothy Mae (Horner) Shaver.  On September 23, 1956 in Logansport he married Vivian D. Felz who preceded in death on February 9, 2017.

Donald retired in 1998 after 30 years as a meter reader for Logansport Municipal Utilities. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Donald was a member of First United Methodist Church and V.F.W. Post #3790. He enjoyed home remodeling jobs, fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are four sons, Patrick Shaver, Logansport; David Lee Shaver and wife Teresa, Monticello; Michael Shaver and wife Vanessa, Logansport; James Shaver, Chicago, IL; two sisters, Betty Davidson, Logansport; Phyllis Marshall, Beaver Creek, OH; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by a son, Mark Shaver and a great grandson, Michael Vore.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Beth Ann Cook officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow in Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.
