State Sen. Randy Head to Serve on Study Committees

Last Updated on June 20, 2018 by cassnetwork

State Sen. Randy Head (R-Logansport) will serve on the following study committees and councils during the summer and fall to help prepare lawmakers for the 2019 legislative session:

  • Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources
  • Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary
  • Interim Study Committee on Elections
  • Interim Study Committee on Executive Officers Compensation
  • Legislative Council
  • Legislative Council, Technology Oversight Subcommittee
  • Military Base Planning Council

“The Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary will analyze the adequacy of the statewide computer system used by the Department of Child Services that monitors child support payments and the cost to update or replace the system,” Head said. “These committees serve to better educate us on topics relevant to our state and communities. I am ready to get to work to find ways to solve issues facing the Department of Child Services and Indiana.”

When Indiana’s part-time legislature is not in session, lawmakers serve on interim study committees that meet to review the state’s top issues, as identified by the General Assembly during the prior legislative session.

Study committee topics are assigned by the bipartisan Legislative Council, comprised of 16 voting members — eight from the Senate, including Head, and eight from the House of Representatives.
