Fall semester at Ivy Tech Community College starts Aug. 20 and an Express Enrollment Day set for Thursday, July 12, offers an efficient way to complete enrollment and registration requirements.
Express Enrollment services will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 12 at Ivy Tech locations in both Kokomo (1815 E. Morgan St.) and Logansport (1 Ivy Tech Way).
In addition to registering for classes, students can complete FYIvy, an online introduction to the college; get financial aid information; meet with an advisor, and sign up for in-person orientation. Those who have not yet completed an assessment to determine appropriate class placement (required before meeting with an advisor) can do that as well. To meet the assessment requirement, students should bring SAT/ACT/PSAT scores and high school or college transcripts, or take the Accuplacer exam if needed.
Participation on July 12 also allows students preparing for fall semester to meet the July 15 priority processing deadline for financial aid.
Mary King, assistant director of financial aid for Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Service Area, noted that while students can apply for scholarships at any time, Ivy Tech will start awarding scholarship dollars on July 16. “We have more than $135,000 in scholarships available for Ivy Tech Kokomo Service area students,” King said. “Those who file their applications by July 15 will be in the pool to have the best chance for as much money as possible.”
Express Enrollment events include an opportunity to complete the easy, online application that is used to check eligibility for all scholarships offered by Ivy Tech, King said.
Ivy Tech recommends that students come with a government-issued photo identification, 2016 tax information, and SAT/ACT/PSAT scores and high school or college transcripts. For more information, visit www.ivytech.edu/EEDay.
