Trine University in Logansport recognizes Angie Mucker as the July 2018 Student of the Month. In 2017, Angie decided to make a life altering decision to return to school and further her education. Like many non-traditional students, Angie had prior college credits from another institution that she was able to transfer into the psychology program at Trine University. Attending full time, Angie has been forced to learn to find the balance between work and family life all while carrying an impressive 4.0 GPA. Angie works as an addiction recovery specialist at the Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility. She loves the diverse field of psychology and enjoys working with juveniles from all over the state of Indiana.
“Returning to college full time while working full time, raising my two sons, and also building a new home with my Fiancé, Ronnie, creates a very busy schedule. It takes sacrifices from everyone in the home to be able to get all deadlines and responsibilities completed. But short term sacrifices are well worth the long term rewards that a college education brings. It is very rewarding to know my children are able to see my hard work and dedication pay off with a job I love! I have enjoyed all the professors in both seated and online classes since returning to Trine. The small class size and friendliness of staff have made returning to college an enjoyable experience”. – Angie Mucker
Angie will finish her degree at Trine in spring of 2019. At that time, she intends to continue working in addictions while pursuing her LMSW.
