Saturday, Logansport’s Art on the Avenue will again be held. For the first time, one of its contributors will be honored with a city award.

Jeremy Ashcraft has been named Citizen of the Week for his contributions. A former news director for WHZR, Ashcraft worked in radio for several years and later served two terms as a member of the Logansport City Council.

“Jeremy is an example of someone who has had great talents that have revealed themselves thanks to the efforts of the Cass County Arts Alliance and the patrons of Art on the Avenue,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said Friday. “We’re fortunate to have local artists including him who not only look forward to exhibiting their work locally, but who attract artists from other areas to Logansport for the weekend. It has become one of many annual events in Logansport that people put on their calendars.”

The Citizen of the Week is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and recognizes Logansport natives or residents who contribute to the community or are recognized for their achievements. Recipients received a certificate of appreciation from the city and a $20 gift certificate.
