Last Updated on October 28, 2018 by cassnetwork

Carol went to join her heavenly family on Saturday, October 20, 2018. She was surrounded by her family and her four-legged companion, Jake, as she moved on to her heavenly home.

Born in Akron, Indiana on May 14, 1934, she was the only child of Blanche and Edward Fleck. Carol also had a beloved step-father, B.T. Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and her daughter, Beth Ann Schnepp-Davis.

Carol was married to Ronald D. Schlabach from 1954-1974. She later married Joe Edwards and they were together until his death in 1994.

After graduating from Indiana Business College in 1952, Carol was in the banking business for over 50 years. Her career took her to National City Bank, Farmers and Merchants, Salin Bank, where she was the branch manager, and to Logansport Savings Bank from where she retired in 2010.

Carol enjoyed her affiliations with the American Legion, the Logansport Republican party where she could be seen working the election poles, her time with the Logansport Chamber of Commerce, and her church family at Crosswind United Methodist Church.

Traveling was on the top of Carol’s favorite things to do list. She took many tropical trips and cruises with her children, Beth and Doug, and would often tell others to spend their money and their time making memories with the ones you love. Her other favorite pastimes were playing cards and dominos surrounded by her friends and family.

Surviving is her son Brian Douglas (Rosemary Weaver) Schlabach, Logansport. Also surviving, granddaughter Sarah (Michael) Galley, Atchinson, Kansas; grandsons, Aaron (Elisha) Schlabach, Yorktown, Jeremy (Rose) Schlabach, Palm Harbor, Florida, and Derek (Alyssa) Schnepp, St. Joseph, Missouri; step grandchildren, Andrew (Yael) Corn, Olympia, Washington and Allison (Hunter) Peterson, Spokane, Washington; six great grandchildren, Avery, Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Ethan, Archer and Adira; and two step- brothers, Frank Miller and Skip Miller. Carol also is survived by her loving sister-in-law, Ginny Hodson, Anderson; and by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s honor to Cass County Humane Society, 700 Water Street, Logansport, Indiana 46947. In lieu of flowers, it is Carol’s wish that you enjoy your loved ones by taking them out to dinner.

Service information will be announced later in the week.
