A Logansport businesswoman who celebrated her 20th year running a downtown business this week has been selected the Citizen of the Week.

Judy Masters operates Judy’s Good Life Emporium, which also was chosen as the Business of the Month by the Chamber of Commerce.

Logansport Mayor Dave Kitchell says Masters represents one of the legacy families of Logansport who is committed to preserving its heritage and supporting its quality of life.

“Judy is the definition of someone who saw a niche she could fill in Logansport and knew she could make it happen,” the mayor said. “Judy is a board-certified holistic health practitioner by day, but she’s also supportive of historic preservation and the arts.”

Masters resides in the Bankers Row Historic District and serves on the city’s historic preservation commission. She was a founding member of what is now known as the Cass County Arts Allliance. Her father, Bob, founded Logansport Distributors, Inc., and her grandmother founded the local Altrusa chapter.

Judy is a 1973 graduate of Logansport High School and received her undergraduate degree from Butler University.

The Citizen of the Week is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office. Recipients receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant and a certificate from the mayor.
