Show your support with #WeAreCassCounty t-shirts

Last Updated on December 26, 2018 by cassnetwork

Those wishing to show their support as residents or friends of Cass County can do so with #WeAreCassCounty t-shirts now available to order online. Proceeds will benefit the families of the student victims of recent tragedies.

WeAreCassCounty Shirts“After the accident involving Cass County students on November 18, we started seeing social media posts encouraging people to wear red to show their support,” said Michelle Dials, who designed the graphic. “I created the graphic and hashtag to accompany our social media post on Cass County Online letting people know that was happening, and it’s been embraced as a unifying message for our community.”

Megan Kiser, a fifth grade teacher at Fairview Elementary and the assistant coach of the Lady Berries basketball team, reached out on Monday and asked about the possibility of using the logo on t-shirts as a fundraiser for the families of students involved in the accident.

As they finalized plans with Creative Promotions to launch an online ordering platform, the community awoke on Wednesday morning to the news that a fire overnight had claimed the lives of six people, including four children, in Logansport.

“Fairview and the Lady Berries wanted to do something to show our love and support to the many families that have been affected by these tragic accidents,” Kiser said. “Whether we have a personal relationship with the individuals or not,  we want to remind Cass County that we are a community that will always come together in faith, love, and support.”

#WeAreCassCounty shirts can be ordered online at bit.ly/wearecasscounty (https://stores.inksoft.com/wearecasscounty/shop/home)

Orders placed by December 9 will be available for pickup December 14. The shirts are available in red, black and navy, representing at least one of the school colors for each of the four school corporations serving Cass County.

Sizes Youth S-Adult XL are $10.

Adult XXL are $12 each and adult 3X-5X are $15 each.

For each shirt sold, Creative Promotions will donate $7.50 to be split between families of the student victims of the accident in Howard County and the fire on Pottawatomie Road.

The goal is to raise at least $1,000 for each of the six families.

“Our hope at Fairview Elementary is that this fundraiser will be a small gesture towards a larger movement to build and strengthen our bonds as a county,” says Fairview Elementary principal Chris Hess. “Tragedies like what Cass County has experienced in the past few weeks put into perspective what we value in Cass County.”
