James R. Riddle

James R. Riddle, age 81, Logansport, passed away at 4:50 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018, in his residence.

Born in Logansport on November 18, 1937, he was the son of Joseph and Betty A. DeWitt Hershey.

Jim was retired from GTE.

A United States Navy veteran, he was a member of the VFW Post 3790. He enjoyed visiting his friends at the VFW every day.

Jim was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed bowling, camping and NASCAR.

He was married in Lafayette to Victoria A. “Vickie” Lyons on March 25, 1966. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2018.

Surviving are son, James R. (Mary) Riddle Jr., Patterson, Georgia; daughters, Betty A. Simpson, Logansport, Teresa (Steven) Dinndorf, Albany, Minnesota, and Kathy (Kevin) Bowles, Logansport; nine grandchildren, Norman (Sabrina) Simpson Jr., Lena (Erik) Sylvester, Wendy (A.J.) Price, Zachary Dinndorf, Mollie Dinndorf, Erin (Ryan) Jones, Allison Dinndorf, James Bowles, and Kayla (Adam) Hardy; and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Marylou Riddle and a great-great granddaughter, Katherine..

The visitation and viewing will be Monday, December 3, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m., both at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Miami Baptist Cemetery, Adamsboro, with full military honors provided by the local Military Honors Team and uniformed members of the United States Navy.
