Annually, 11,280 books are distributed to children from birth to age five through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. 91 children registered for the Begindergarten Program this past summer that helps children be better prepared to enter Kindergarten. Fifty-two business partners went into all four area school systems to read, do activities and tell about their jobs to children in kindergarten and first grade once a month during the school year. On Live United Day, 32 projects were done through over 400 volunteers. Through 2-1-1 Information & Referral System, 1,134 referrals were given in 2017. These are just some of the things done through the United Way office. There are also 11 other agencies who get funding to provide quality programs to our community.
