Pauline I. Sanders

Pauline I. Sanders, 99, formerly of Logansport, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in Brookville, Ohio.

Born on September 28, 1916, in Logansport, Indiana, she was the daughter of William L. and Florence Haner Grusenmeyer. She missed celebrating her 100th birthday by only 98 days.

On August 14, 1937, she was married to Neil C. Sanders, who preceded her in death on May 4, 2011.

Long-time Logansport residents will remember Pauline as an extraordinary dance instructor for many years.

Surviving are daughter, Sheryl (David) Nielsen, Englewood, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Jill Sanders, Muskegon, Mich.; five grandchildren, Michael (Ai-Lien) Nielsen, San Marcos, Calif., Elizabeth (Amanda) Collins, Lascassas, Tenn., Paul (Leslie Busby) Nielsen, Smyrna, Tenn., Josh (Chantal) Sanders, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jon (Christina) Sanders, San Francisco; six great grandchildren, Emily Nielsen, Los Angeles, Polo Nielsen, San Marcos, Noah Nielsen, Seattle, Autumn Olivia Nielsen, Medway, Ohio, Samuel and Jackson Collins, Lascassas, Alexander and Hilbi Sanders, Grand Rapids, and August Sanders, San Francisco.

Pauline was also preceded in death by her son, Neil J. Sanders, sister, Mary Catherine Rittenhouse; brothers, Fred Grusenmeyer and William Grusenmeyer.

A graveside service for both Pauline and her husband, Neil, will be conducted on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, Logansport, Indiana, with Fr. Dominic Petan officiating.
