Logansport Memorial Hospital to break ground on a new Cancer Care Center; additional renovations on the horizon for 2017

Last Updated on November 23, 2016 by cassnetwork

cancercareLogansport Memorial Hospital is preparing to break ground for a new Cancer Care Center, with an official groundbreaking ceremony to be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 4 p.m.

The Cancer Care Center, which will be located at the Medical Office Building East, 1025 Michigan Avenue is part of a $7.4 million investment in direct patient care. In 2015, Logansport Memorial Hospital purchased the Logansport Regional Cancer Center. With this purchase, LMH made a commitment to continue to radiation oncology services in Cass County. The new Cancer Care Center will bring together radiation oncology services and infusion therapy services into one convenient location. By co-locating all cancer services, patients and family members will find it is easier to access necessary services and procedures.  Plans for the new state-ofart facility have been designed with patient care and comfort in mind.

Following the completion of the Cancer Care Center, LMH will begin the renovation of the Family Birth Center. The current unit was built in the 1980s. The renovation will modernize the birth center and will include labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) rooms, as well as a dedicated education center and a state-of-the art security and monitoring system. Both projects will be completed by late 2017.

The project represents one of the largest single investments made in patient care by Logansport Memorial Hospital. Since 2001, LMH has reinvested more than $33 million in capital improvements to the hospital facility and campus. As a not-for-profit hospital, the margins we earn each year are continually reinvested in our organization toward direct patient care.

The public is welcome to join us for the Groundbreaking Ceremony to kick off this project on November 29. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony, and parking is available in front of Medical Office Building East at 1025 Michigan Avenue in Logansport. If you have any questions about this project, please contact Vicki Byrd, Vice-President of Planning and Development by calling (574) 753-1414 or by email at vbyrd@logansportmemorial.org.
