
Clifford E. Ellis

Clifford Ellis, 84 of Williamsport, Indiana, formerly of Logansport, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at Franciscan East in Lafayette, Indiana.
Born September 17, 1942, in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late Earl and Gladys (Foss) Ellis.
A 1960 graduate of Logansport High School, Cliff joined the Indiana National Guard – serving for six years. He then transferred to the United States Air Force Reserves and served at Grissom AFB for 23 years. He loved his time in the USAFR and enjoyed seeing the world. He was a proud member of the American Legion and the Patriot Guard.
Cliff was retired from the Kokomo Chrysler plant where he was a member of the UAW Local 685. He graduated from Ivy Tech through the Chrysler program to become a pipe fitter.
After retiring, he and a close circle of friends bought Harleys and made a habit of riding together at least once a week. They logged countless miles on road trips, enjoying the freedom of the open road. Cliff was also a devoted NASCAR fan who attended many races over the years, and he loved the fun of a good casino trip now and then.
On Valentine’s Day of 1968, he was married to Cheryl (Downhour) Ellis, who survives, along with his son-in-law, Jason Eberly; grandchildren, Carson Eberly and Kendall Eberly; brother-in-law, Greg (Linda) Downhour; sisters-in-law, Tanya (Chris) Shelton, and Melody (Miles) Scull; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Eberly; and his in-laws, Ernest and Juanita Downhour.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, 1801 Chase Road, Logansport, with Dawn Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
