Kaylie Mae Painter, 32, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Parkview Logansport Hospital.
Kaylie, known to her family as “Kaylie Bug”, was born on August 4, 1994, in Kokomo, Indiana.
Kaylie loved taking long walks with her sister, Chelsea, with Justin Bieber songs playing at full volume. Although she did not speak with words, her smile said more than words ever could. She had a special way of lighting up every room and reminding those around her that life’s most beautiful moments are often felt rather than spoken. For the past 22 years, her family was grateful to have her close by at Camelot, where she was cared for by devoted caregivers who loved her, too.
Kaylie is survived by her parents, Michelle (Painter) and Charles Carter; her grandmother, Karen Painter; her siblings, Stephanie Harrell (Corey Haus), Brittany Vestal (Layne), Mallory Putnam (Josh), Chelsea Dixson (Brad Sparks), Madeline Painter, Taylor Painter, Shelly Martinez (Isaac), and Justin Carter (Seneca); her former brother-in-law, Chad Dixson; her uncle, Danny (Angie) Painter; and her nieces and nephews, Makenzie Reed, Dillon Lee, Sophia Painter, Harper Vestal, Lily Lee, Bristal Dixson, Mason Reed, Hudson Vestal, Bexlie Dixson, Drayven Carter, Madison Dixson, and Payton Dixson.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ralph Painter.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 26, at Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the patient activity fund at Camelot Care Center, 1555 Commerce Court, Logansport, IN 46947.
