Maria Guadalupe Garcia, 69, of Logansport, passed away October 3, 2026, at her home.
Maria was born May 15, 1957, in Pedernales, Michoacán, Mexico, to the late Julian Garcia and Glafira Gutierrez.
In 1974, Maria married Noel Sosa Garcia. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2019.
She was a member of the United Apostolic Church in Logansport.
Maria had a way of making people feel cared for the moment they met her. She greeted everyone with a smile, and if you were anywhere near her kitchen, she’d make sure you were fed. Caring for others wasn’t just something she did — it was who she was.
She is survived by her children: Ulises (Harriett) Sosa Garcia, Alan Sosa Garcia, Nadia (Enrique), and Georgina Sosa Garcia; her siblings: Efren, Miguel, Bernabe, Rodolfo, Rafael, Gloria, Isaura, Carmen, Ana, and Juan; many grandchildren and great‑great‑grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the funeral home.
A funeral service celebrating Maria’s life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

María nació el 15 de mayo de 1957 en Pedernales, Michoacán, México, hija de los fallecidos Julián García y Glafira Gutiérrez.
En 1974, María se casó con Noel Sosa García. Él falleció el 14 de junio de 2019.
Fue miembro de la Iglesia Apostólica Unida en Logansport.
María tenía una manera especial de hacer que la gente se sintiera cuidada desde el primer momento. Saludaba a todos con una sonrisa, y si estabas cerca de su cocina, se aseguraba de que comieras. Cuidar de los demás no era solo algo que hacía — era parte de quién era.
Le sobreviven sus hijos: Ulises (Harriett) Sosa García, Alan Sosa García, Nadia (Enrique) y Georgina Sosa García; sus hermanos: Efren, Miguel, Bernabe, Rodolfo, Rafael, Gloria, Isaura, Carmen, Ana, and Juan; muchos nietos y bisnietos; y varios sobrinos.
La visita será de 5 a 8 p.m. el martes, 6 de octubre de 2026, en la funeraria.
El servicio fúnebre en celebración de la vida de María será a las 10 a.m. el miércoles, 7 de octubre de 2026, en Fisher Funeral Chapel.
La sepultura tendrá lugar en el cementerio Mount Hope.
