Mayor Jacob Pomasl today announced that he will seek a full term as Mayor of Logansport, running as a Republican candidate in the 2027 City Election.
Born and raised in Logansport, Pomasl graduated from Logansport High School in 2013 before attending Indiana University in Bloomington. He stepped into the role of Mayor in April 2026 after serving more than five years as Deputy Mayor, where he managed the day-to-day operations of city government while spearheading many special projects and strategic initiatives. Before joining city leadership, he served as a Regional Director on the staff of then-U.S. Senator Mike Braun, now Governor of Indiana.
“Logansport has real momentum,” said Mayor Pomasl. “We’re seeing a revitalized downtown, major quality-of-life improvements, local businesses expanding, and historic investments in our infrastructure. We’re moving in the right direction, and I’m running to keep Logansport on track.”
Pomasl currently serves as Chairman of the Cass County Republican Party. He has served two terms on the board of the United Way of Cass County, is a member of the Logansport Elks Lodge #66, and has held seats on several other local and regional boards. He and his wife, Kourtney, a Logansport native and LHS graduate, are parishioners at All Saints Catholic Church and welcomed their first daughter, Julia, in February 2026.
“My promise to the people of Logansport is simple,” Mayor Pomasl added. “No drama. Just results.”
