Phillip E. Molden, 67, of Logansport, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born on February 26, 1959, the son of the late Robert L. and Lula B. (Smith) Molden.
Phillip and his wife, Sherrie, shared nearly five decades of life together, beginning in 1978. Through all of life’s changes, they remained a constant source of love and support for one another, always there for each other when it mattered most.
For over three decades, Phillip worked for Transco. Outside of work, he loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid gun collector. While he never had much interest in using the guns he collected, he simply enjoyed building his collection over the years.
Those who knew Phillip rarely saw him without a bandana. He collected them throughout the years and eventually had more than enough to wear a different one every day of the year.
Phillip was deeply sentimental by nature and held onto the things that carried meaning and memories. He also had a large circle of friends and genuinely valued the many friendships he made throughout his life.
Above all, family meant everything to Phillip. He loved his children dearly and took great pride in being their dad, while being a grandfather brought him an especially great amount of joy. His grandchildren were incredibly important to him, and time spent with his family was time he cherished most.
His beloved dog, Scooby, was another important part of Phillip’s life. Scooby was his faithful companion, and the bond they shared was one Phillip held dear.
Along with his wife, Sherrie, Phillip is survived by his daughters, Lucy (Scott Vaughn) Molden-Vaughn and Jessica Lynn Molden; bonus children, Rachel (Steve) Sammons, Joey Utter, and Rob Utter; grandchildren, Emily, Emmarie, Amber, Brandyn, Cameron, Ashlyn, Christian, Ava, Chase, and Joclyn; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Lula B. Molden; daughter, Crystal Dawn Molden; sister, Debra Reeser; brothers, Stephen Molden and Robert L. Molden; and beloved dog, Scooby.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
