f you have ever had dinner at Bull Shippers in Logansport on a Friday night, then you probably knew Janet Arnold. It was one of her favorite places to go, not only for the food, but to be able to spend time talking with the other customers and the staff. Janet S. Arnold of Logansport, Indiana passed away on Sunday October 4th of 2026 at her home surrounded by family.

Janet was born on December 12, 1943, in Winamac Indiana, the youngest of three children to late George W. and Donna M. (Rans) Smith. She married Jerry J. Arnold in December of 1977 in Rochester.

Janet graduated from Kewanna High School in 1961.

She formerly worked at Farmers & Merchants bank in Rochester, Logansport Clerk-Treasurer’s office, Stony Pike and Boswell Livestock Auction.

Janet enjoyed her many flower gardens, watching her hummingbirds, listening to WWKI, spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughters.

Surviving are her son, Jason Arnold and his wife Holly of Mentone, Granddaughters, Alexis Burge of Akron, Bella Arnold of Mentone, Brother and Sister in-law, Jack and Susie Mayfield of Carmel, Brother In-Law, David Arnold of Logansport, Neice, Kris Mayfield of Carmel.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Jerry J. Arnold, her sisters, Joann Howe and Martha Smith, her niece, Julie Middleton, and good friend, Claud Bailey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday October 8, 2026, at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport with visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
