Nina K. Holle, 80 of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born February 26, 1946, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late James and Mae (Blackburn) Swank.
Nina attended school in Lucerne from kindergarten through the 11th grade. In 1964, she was a member of the first class to graduate from the newly built Pioneer High School.
On September 24, 1972, in the Indian Creek Christian Church, she was married to Richard J. Holle. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2025.
For 8-1/2 years, Nina worked at Sears before “retiring” to become a homemaker. She later used her clerical skills to fill positions at Numbers & Words. She also worked at 1st National Bank and Farmer’s & Merchant’s State Bank as a teller and as a receptionist at the Starr-Austen law firm. Working as a school lunch lady at Pioneer Elementary was not just a job – it was a fun place to work and be able to see her daughters at school.
She was a longtime member of Shiloh Christian Church and considered her church as an extension of her family. For many years, she enjoyed the fellowship as a member of the Met ‘N Et Extension Homemakers Club. She was passionate about quilting and very talented in the art. She enjoyed getting together with her neighborly quilt group. Nina was also an excellent seamstress. She loved to cook and bake. Spending time watching the birds in her yard or playing on the computer kept her entertained for hours. But there was nothing like being around family – especially the grandkids.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Holle Limp and her husband Andrew, and Debbe Holle Waldrep, and her husband Derek; stepdaughter. Cathie Holle Portenier and her husband, Robert, stepson, Jeffery Holle; six grandchildren: Elizabeth, William, Sarah and Rachel Limp and Isaac and Lillian Waldrep; brothers, Gene (Carol) Swank, Robert (Bonnie) Swank, and Jerry (Kathy) Swank; and one sister, Etta Byers; sister-in-law, Pat Swank Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Swank, and her sisters, Donnabelle Hinkle, Kathryn Swank Caldwell, Ruth Swank, and Joyce Layer Miller,
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 8th, at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.
A Funeral Service celebrating Nina’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 9th in the Shiloh Christian Church with Pastor Mark Marshall officiating. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Shiloh Christian Cemetery.
