Katherine E. Sackett, 70 of Logansport, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2026, in Chase Center following a lengthy illness.
Born April 4, 1956, in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Margaret (Taylor) Jordan.
Kathy had a very strong work ethic and was a strong, independent woman. Formerly employed by T.M. Morris in Logansport, had also worked at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Franklin.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and she almost always had a good book close by. For more than fifty years she wrote faithfully to her pen pals all over the world – a hobby she kept at with joy until her hands simply couldn’t write anymore. Kathy also had a competitive streak when it came to video games. She enjoyed Bingo. She raised dachshunds over the years, with Willy as her special companion for many years, right alongside Sinbad the cat. She missed them dearly.
More than anything, she loved her family – especially her son and her grandsons – and she held deep affection for their mom, Patricia, whom she truly thought of as a daughter.
Kathy is survived by her son, Jonathan W. (Houston) Jordan, of Huntington; grandsons, Dakota Jordan, and Justin (Joclynn) Jordan, all of Logansport, sisters, Linda Scott, of Michigan, and Shirley Spencer, of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia “Pat” Benoit.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, October 12 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Jeff Hall officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
